Youth Participation At Mass
Altar Serving - Grades 3+
Blessed Sacrament Parish is currently looking for Altar Servers for all three weekend Masses. Children and youth who are interested in this ministry will assist Father Charlie at the altar during the Mass. This is a great ministry for children to become involved in the Mass and the Parish. Training will be provided for all new servers.
For more information, please contact the parish office.
Children’s Liturgy - Pre K to Grade 3
This ministry offers a special opportunity for young children to grasp a better understanding of the weekly readings and gospel. This Liturgy is a simpler version of what the parents experience, normally with the same gospel reading (simplified). The Liturgy of the Word for Children is held at the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass throughout the school year. There is no sign-up required – just send your child, when Father Charlie calls them at the beginning of Mass.
We are also looking for parents and high school students to volunteer their time once every few weeks to lead this Liturgy of The Word of God for Children. Youth can serve as helpers every weekend. Please leave your name at the Parish Office so that Christina McNamara (Children’s Liturgy Coordinator) can call you back.
Youth Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers
Young people who have been Confirmed are able to participate at Mass as a Lector or an Eucharistic Minister. If you are interested in either of these ministries please connect with the Parish Office.
Christmas Pageant
The Christmas Pageant has been an annual event at Blessed Sacrament Parish. Every year, youth of the parish present a dramatic performance of “Jesus’ Birth” to the congregation at the Children’s 5:00 Mass on Christmas Eve. Older students are welcomed to assist backstage as well.
Information regarding sign-ups and specific information about the pageant will be handed out late October.
