Returning to the Church?

Why come back? COME HOME, WE MISS YOU!

Maybe you’ve been away from the Church for awhile. Maybe you’re not sure if you want to return, but you are willing to at least take a second look. We would like to help you in your journey.

Perhaps you just drifted from “practicing the faith” for a while. Perhaps you had some bad experience with a priest or parishioner (yep, we’re still very human). Perhaps some teaching doesn’t fit your current way of thinking.

Sometimes we need to put aside our preconceived ideas of the faith long enough to try to understand not just what the Church teaches, but why. Many people are happily surprised when they discover that what they once thought the Catholic Church teaches is actually different from what she in fact teaches.

Sometimes, the answers to our questions are not what we expect them to be. The truth often lies in a direction we didn’t expect! Jesus Christ established a Church, the Catholic Christian Church, with all its human imperfections as the shelter from the storms of this life. God loves you so much that He will not stop searching for you, reaching out to you, and seeking you, so He can bring you safely home to your Catholic family.

But God is gentle…the choice is yours.

And Father Charlie does his best to be gentle too, so give him a call to have some conversation with him about your questions and the possibility of returning to be active in your faith again, and to rediscover the joy of being part of God’s family.

Or just start coming to church again.

You may at some point wish to make a new start, asking forgiveness (in the sacrament of  God’s merciful forgiveness – confession) and receiving His mercy in an awesome way.
